This series is about veils. A veil is usually a piece of material used to protect or conceal something on the body such as the face. But metaphorically, a veil may be something protecting or prohibiting a person (ego) from seeing reality, truth, lies, or memories of an event in its entirety. Our perceptions and memories are often only partially accessible by our consciousness. They are often veiled by denial, fear, lack of knowledge, or experience. This project aims to explore the many types of veils experienced. I poke through the surface, making a veil with each poke, to show what is behind it. I also cover things with a veil in order to better reflect upon them; to see them differently. The works started in 2018 and are still in progress. More will be added as they are unveiled. Each work is a one of a kind.
